Spring 2017 PACE Testing: Free Coffee Dates

Between March 31 and May 12, 2017, the Language Testing Program will administer over 2300 ACTFL tests as part of the PACE Project. All of these tests are scheduled in the four Jones computer classrooms, concurrent with other tests and regular class sessions. Peak testing season can result in approximately 100 students waiting in the hallway for their rooms to open. The hallway noise can become very distracting to test takers in the classrooms, particularly those that are taking a listening test.

In an effort to reduce the hallway noise on the ground floor, we are asking for instructors’ help in encouraging their students to remain quiet while waiting in the hallway for their room to open and limiting the time they wait outside their room. To serve those who arrive early for class, we are inviting students to come to Multimedia Lab Jones 135 for free coffee. We hope that this offer will incentivize students who arrive early for their class or test to wait in the relaxing and inviting lab, as opposed to the crowded hallway.

Here are the testing / coffee times for this week:
  • Monday, May 8: 1:30-6:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 9: 8:00-4:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 10: 10:15-3:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, May 11: 10:15-12:30 p.m.
  • Friday, May 12: 10:15-12:30 p.m.
The PACE Project is funded by a grant from The Language Flagship.
